Miolek

Published on

Today, my wife and me adopted a third cat. He is a cute kitten we named Miolek (/mjolɛk/; aka "the one who meow a lot"). It come from "miaule" −meow in French− and *ek ending is a way to finish/shorten Polish words to make them sound more cute (my wife is Polish).

He meows all the time, as if he needs to comment on everything. And purring too, all the time; a very cuddling temper. It's a very interactive four month old young male. He was left alone in a garden next a place we were invited to get lunch today and came on our knee meowing a lot and cuddling a lot. We saw he was starved and was left alone and we found a owner we could contact on phone. She (previous owner) had already too much cat (4) and Miolek wasn't expected. She was also rarely at home to take care of the kitten and that's why Miolek was visiting the neighborhood alone . She proposed us to adopt if we liked him and we quickly shared a eye contact with my wife and our decision to take him home was done. Her previous owner was also happy that Miolek could get a new home with attention and described us his date of birth, age and everything to identify him later to the vet, sterilize and vaccine.

So we made the trip back home in car and Miolek was sweet enough to just sit on a box with a towel on my knee while Alicja was driving. After one hour of purring and cuddle, we arrived and my two other cats started to meet him. They went close to smell each other. No aggressions but "leave me alone" and "take your distance" sort of single serious meowing. Now they are all back to their usual habits. Miolek sleeps next to me while I type this and already used his improvised litter, eat his food and visited all home. So far, he is a perfect kitten!

I'm so happy and I had to share this with you :-)

Miolek meeting Tigrette: same type of fur.

The cats I already have: Noutti on left (inspiration for Carrot) and Tigrette on right (she looks like an old grumpy samurai, but she is a sweety).

Miolek while I type this...

Aaaaaw, what a cutie! It´s sad to hear that some owners are a little irresponsible leaving their pets outside, not paying enough attention to them, not controlling their population and etc... But oh well! Let´s focus on the good side! I´m happy to hear that Miolek (what an original name^^) now has a nice loving home and I hope your cats will accept him in the band without any problems! :)

I also have two cats, one girl looking very similar to Tigrette but with less self confidence and her son - big sweet boy of unique colour of white and brown :´)

And by the way I´m very new here so I haven´t seen much but I like your cosy interior design! I don´t know if it is your wife ideas or yours but I get similar autumn cosy vibes as from some of your Pepper&Carrot pictures! Really cute ^^

link David Revoy Author,

Thanks BestBun for the kind words!
I can't blame the previous owner; she told me on phone a complex story including her son adopting a kitten end August and then having to move for studies, giving back kitten to her mother. But meanwhile she had stuff to manage and wasn't around her home. She probably is very responsable and careful but was just overwhelmed by a series of event not depending of herself. She was sounding very nice, surprised but she called her son and they decided together it was better if Miolek was immediately re-adopted. She asked many questions about me and my wife; our garden, our situation near the road, if we would vaccine and give care support. She was concerned for the life of Miolek. After a first full evening at home, night and morning I can tell he is very well educated: he used litter box, groom hiself very well, slept on the footer of the bed and did respect our sleeptime. Not really a wild cat at all, maybe not educated yet to not jump on table while breakfeast. So previous owner did had many merits; I'll send her photos of how Miolek is growing.
Thank you about the interior; it's a choice of me and my wife and yep; right now is autumn color. We decorate with dried flowers, colorful squash vegetable (we'll eat them soon too), nuts and apples. We still have white wall since we moved and decoration happens here and there. Long life to your two cats!

Tigrette and Miolek must be jealous, only Noutti has a character in the comic!

"Tigrette on right (she looks like an old grumpy samurai"

Sounds like you already have some ideas too :)

Oh no no, I don´t mean to judge! I´m sure she is a nice woman and there are different circumstances which can lead to such situations. I´m happy to hear she showed a lot of interest in his future and your care ^^

Good to know Miolek is doing so well! Oh table walking is the real case! My mum´s cat never stopped doing that so we had to give her her own chair ! Hope you´ll have a better luck! :´)

Aaaw, thank you! To yours too! :)

Wow... so adorable kitties. And very nice pictures. I’m so glad you and you’re wife share the same passion about cats. I’m so happy I get to see more pictures of noutti and tigrette.

Miolek seems so happy and content.

Wow, Miolek looks super cool (as well as Tigrette and Noutti)! I am happy he found a new family at your home. I've recently adopted a second cat as well :)
