The rendezvous

Hi, this is the artwork I started this Wednesday on my weekly livestreaming session. I painted the whole background during a 3h30 livestream, archived here on YouTube and here on PeerTube (the open and decentralized video platform). I'll speak a bit more about the making-of on the weekly blog for my patreons. I painted the characters from scratch twice with two different workflows, to compare painting techniques. It was interesting to do this experiment and I learned a lot. Now I'll try to apply that on future episode 25, and if it is valid in production, I'll update my public tutorial category.

You can find also the Krita source and various resized versions ready to be used as wallpaper:
Source (41.77MB)   |   Mobile (1080x1920)   |   4:3 (1280x1024)
16:9 (1920x1080)   |   16:10 (1920x1200)   |   16:10 (2560x1600)

Is not that head too big in comparison with other body proportions?

It depends the age of Pepper on this artwork. She is very young on it.

Lovely picture indeed!

I haven’t checked if Peer Tube enables downloading videos.

Yes, Peer Tube is decentralized but does it necessarily make you free from the GAFAM clutches? peertube.touhoppai.moe is hosted on Cloudflare. Even if a CDN works with many different virtual machines anywhere in the world, still Cloudflare is the sole owner and has the control over its servers. The company can spy on you or shut down its service at any time.

La décentralisation est de principe dans Peer Tube mais si une instance de PeerTube est installé sur CloudFlare, ce sont des machines sous le contrôle de CloudFlare. Je dis peut-être des bêtises mais personne ne m’a répondu sur Framablog.

Thanks!

I think the best way to get an answer could be direct messaging Touhoppai on Mastodon. But I think you are right: a Mastodon/Peertube instance doesn't mean 100% privacy/libre/ethic. They are just the tool ; It's up to the one who run the instance to setup rules or to comply with servers who have rules. We could imagine instance with Google analytic ; or with paywall to view videos, etc...

Here my livestreaming are all CC-By content; so it is possible for anyone to store them and propose download/streaming directly. I'm happy about any initiatives as I know paying a host disk space and setting up a Peertube machine is a lot of work. Thanks Touhoppai for making this re-host available and possible!

Thanks libre fan for being careful about this point.
To be more precise, Cloudflare is not the host (they don't provide hosting) but the DNS resolver only, which is mandatory because some other subdomains of .touhoppai.moe rely on it.

I explicitely disabled all trafic going through cloudflare transparent proxy, which allows them to cache / improve the rendered page but at the expense of all traffic going via their machine (password included).

For peertube.touhoppai.moe, the https certificate you're accepting is the one hosted on the server itself and there's no man-in-the-middle ! The only thing is that cloudflare is aware that you're interested in knowing peertube.touhoppai.moe IP (and bonus, here is the current IP: 163.172.142.55 so that you can include it in your /etc/hosts and even remove relying on cloudflare for this step :) )

Free feel to ask us for more info if it's not clear.

(Thanks David for letting us help you this way)

Merci encore !

for english-speakers only :
This message is to ask if you could post the actions scripts in kde that you showed us in the previous live stream video. I'm really interested, but I don't have the skills to do them myself for now. These scripts are very handy, and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one interested. That would be very kind ! Thanks !
