Second and third panel for the next Pepper&Carrot episode: Pepper's plan wasn't really effective.

Now I curious how can keep pepper in jail, she have great magic power. Cool picture òf dragon.

It will be an interesting episode, I have a feeling about that :)

This dragon would make for a great escape vehicle. I've got the feeling this very dragonpilot who turned her in (and whose life she "saved" by not finishing her evil plan) will help Pepper out.

Looking at this image again, I think the perspective of the lower drawing is a bit confusing. Somehow I'd expect these floor tiles to be square or rectangular. Yet one vanishing point seems to be in the middle whereas the other is on the right. I'd say you either have one vanishing point in the middle and the other in infinity (so with the stairs horizontal in the drawing) or you have one vanishing point left and the other one right. Or are these tiles possibly not square or rectangular?

A suggestion for the English dialogues:
1: Excuses? Are you kidding me?
2: Throw her in jail right now!

About 2: "Throw this in jail" does not really work. The French "this" implies contempt, so instead of "her", you might want to say "Throw this X in jail right now", where X is:
* fool - if you want to emphasize Pepper's supposed stupidity
* trash - for pure contempt

Hope it helps.

Hehe, 🤫 😉

link David Revoy Author,

I admit this panel felt so complex when I started the layout; I just decided to speedpaint it and then add incrementally details. Yes, the perspective of the floor doesn't really follow the axis between Wasabi and Pepper. I'll probably fix that on the way. Thanks for pointing it.

link David Revoy Author,

It helps :) L'avantage du "ça" en FR; was the way it was working for both Pepper and Carrot ; and true, it has a little "trash" meaning to. ^__^
You probably understand now what happened in my brain when I posted that on Saturday, tried to translate it myself; then decided to make the blog-post for a call of translator on Monday.

Also, about panel 2: From the context of Ep. 35, it seems that Pepper want to "presenter ses excuses", that is, offer apologies. Which is not the same as the English "excuses", which are justifications. Excuses is yet another faux-ami.

So I'd like to revise my suggestion for Panel 2 to: "You're apologizing? Are you kidding me?"

link David Revoy Author,

Oh oh, what a faux-ami! Thanks for pointing that.
Could you get a Framagit account, or is it still pending?

link fredericmora

Still pending. It's been 3 days.

link David Revoy Author,

Mm... That's doesn't sound good.
Try to login maybe? (in case it was silently accepted in background)

link fredericmora

Still the same: "Your account is pending approval from your GitLab administrator and hence blocked. Please contact your GitLab administrator if you think this is an error".

Framagit now works for me. I added a comment in https://framagit.org/peppercarrot/webcomics/-/issues/202. Let me know if you want me to open a specific issue to track the first two panels.

link David Revoy Author,

Thanks! I just saw the comment on issue 202. No need to open an issue for the two panels of bottom; P01. I need to submit the French text to the FR team first for a proofread. (or dialog enhancement). I'll try to get soon this first alpha version. Thanks again for retrying with Framagit.
