Lectures

Calm time period this autumn. I wish I had more time to paint personal artwork and read more.

Dear David,

Your work is absolutely magical. I thank you for bringing such magic into our world. We certainly need it. I would like, if I may, to ask you a question about your "Lectures" piece. I am a fantasy sculptor and I would LOVE to "try" my hand at sculpting it, with your permission, of course.

Here is my FB page if you would like to see my work.

Thank you so much for your consideration.
Hugs,
Carla

Hello David,

First off, I adore this picture. Second, you may want to check a seller on Amazon called Joy Sunday. They are selling cross stitch kits of this picture, and from the other patterns they sell, I doubt they contacted you about the copyright/licensing. If I'm wrong, please ignore this comment.

link David Revoy Author,

Hi Tegan, thank you for the nice words and the feedback.
Don't worry; 'Joy Sunday' is a client of mine and contacted a couple years ago to purchase unlimited license to reuse three or four artworks as official cross stitch kits; they even sent me a completed cross stich artwork for home, I have it on the wall. I don't have a royalty system with them; I proposed them a price for usage on unlimited period for all "sewing" template derivative they produce.
Many thanks for coming here and prevent me about this re:usage; it helps!

I came here looking for EXACTLY this answer. I purchased this cross stitch design and then discovered that many other Joy Sunday charts ARE violating copyright. I didn’t want to stitch the chart if it was sold illegally. I feel so much better!!!!! I can’t wait to get it stitched.

Thank you for checking online and for the feedback Carla!
Have a good time stitching it!

Hello,
I love this picture of you. I would like to have her tattooed. I would like to add a squat girl with a bow in the same spirit. Unfortunately, I'm not as good at drawing as you are. Do you think you can draw this character for me?
Many thanks
Valérie

link David Revoy Author,

Hi Valérie, thank you for your nice comments; unfortunately I'm too busy with keeping Pepper&Carrot alive to do comission right now. If you select a good tatoo artist (good enough to replicate this artwork) I'm sure he'll or she'll will have no issue to adapt the art to your liking to make it unique. Again, sorry to can't help on this.

Thank you David, there no matter ou devrais-je dire: Merci David...il n'y a pas de problème.... après recherche, vous êtes français ;)
Belle journée.

Hello - I’ve fallen in love with this wonderful illustration. Is it available as a print anywhere? I would love to have a framed copy. Thank you!

link David Revoy Author,

Thank you for your words about this piece; indeed I never pushed to my Redbubble. I just fixed it, you can see the product available now with this artwork here:

I fell in love with your painting when I first saw it! Thank you for sharing it!

I am writing a free (cc by-sa / GPL-licensed) roleplaying book (see 1w6.org) and I would like to take this image for core motivations — what keeps you going and helps you to get up again after strikes of fate. When I first found this on your deviantart page, I’ve seen it licensed under cc by-nc-nd, though, so I stood back. Now I saw it here with cc by as license, so I’d like to ask which license applies. Can I use it for the cc by-sa- and GPL-licensed roleplaying book (naturally with attribution)?

link David Revoy Author,

Hey, yes CC-By confirmed. I changed the license recently, more old work of mine will follow probably (i need to study each time contracts and expiration dates, etc). In any case, my blog shows the right license over all external media. I'll try to fix the DA one asap.
Thanks for reusing my art on your work!
