I just took a peek at the thermometer outside... Yeah... This is fine...

So what's the temperature outside? If it's not even 40°C, then you should come to my place and draw this again.

@vort3 It's a humble 37°C in Montauban, France here... No I don't want to redraw it, it's already the second time. (first time was two years ago but I decided to repaint it today: peppercarrot.com/en/viewer/mis )

The art is perfect, I was just kidding. Just wanted to let you know the temperature can be as high as 48°C during summer here in Central Asia.

Seriously. I'm bundled up a bit and I don't do that.

I have my new "this is fine" image. Thank you!

Could you add a small overlay with a link to your site so attribution requirements can be fulfilled by just uploading the image?
(for example next to your signature)

link David Revoy Author, - Reply
davidrevoy

@ArneBab Thank you! I can't automate it for the attribution built-in the picture, but the source and the attribution can be found here peppercarrot.com/en/viewer/mis , and no problem if you can't write the license; the small overlay signature with my name is a good enough attribution in anycase.

@ArneBab Oh didn't notice it in the corner, which reminds me that sometimes artists put their names where a brand or short message would be, like could be on Pepper's mug.

but some morons would still say climate change is a myth... Last survey in Poland shows about 50% of citizens don't believe in it *sigh*

link David Revoy Author, - Reply

@madargon oh yes, I know that (and it's sad); my wife is Polish and we follow both France and Poland's news... Maybe it's slightly less in France, but I start to doubt about it more and more election after elections.

@madargon To be fair, those surveys are mostly answered by boomers. I don't know a single person who would say that climate change is a myth (other than my, frankly stupid, mother).

That being said, I think France is still much hotter than Poland. When I lived in Strasbourg, I was afraid to leave my house during the day (one time I almost fainted when it was 38*C and I went to the store to buy more water).
Today it was 38*C in Essen, while in Poland it's apparently still somewhat manageable.

Still... sure, build more AI datacenters to produce more slop. Who cares about the environment, am I right? :ablobcatsweatsip:

@elly Last thing you mentioned constantly makes me really angry. We have problem with heating, energy demand vs sustainability and water shortages. And most people know this. But billionaires and VC parasites need their hype so much...

@elly interesting enough, most Scientists for Future folks I know are in the age that is associated with "Boomers" and those are the ones that try to convince more people to act against #climatechange .

So maybe that is just statistics: Because "boomers" are the largest group, they also have the largest subgroups a) denying the evidence for human made climate change and b) explaining the climate change and lobbying to act to protect climate and biological diversity. (Or you just know different people. :) )

@elgregor I don't have detailed data. I only saw post with numbers for some conspiracy views or lack of science konwledge. Disturbing thing, in most questions numbers were in 40-60% range.
