@lovewin Thank you. I wanted that too for years. One thing I appreciate more and more is how solid the ballpoint pen ink is on the page. I don't fear the drawings to smudge or loosing details after browsing a lot the sketchbook or transportation. I'm also discovering the wide variety of shading possible. It is sort of becoming my new pencil. Too bad it cannot be erased 😺
Nice! Now I’m just waiting for the Cammy-Pepper crossover 🙂
(love the dragon, by the way!)
If you want to look at no-guides amateur scribbling for minimal drawing time (simplified as much as possible so I can get the info in), you can check my best thing today sketches. They are about 5 minutes every morning and directly in ink: https://www.draketo.de/kreatives/best-thing-today#2023-11
(I now thought these could interest you, because you’ve been looking now and then for ways to draw fast)
That's a cool habit and a good collection you have here. I liked to see pattern; the sideview running bunny, jumping sometime on mushrooms. And also it was good to see how the sheet got organised, with frame, colors, etc... on the most recent ones. 👍
I’m glad to hear that ☺ (and happy that it was interesting enough that you looked through several)
I started these sketches as a self-protection measure when I was in a pretty dark place mentally: everything seemed gray and I did not remember the good experiences of the week at the end of the week.
And it worked: I now remember far more positive moments and the life I remember is a brighter one.
Aside: Most frames are actual screens from playing games ☺
The thought bubbles are from playing pen-and-paper roleplaying games (usually online these days).
And the colors came gradually, and I also like a lot how they work out. I usually just use a small packet with 8 pens (4 color brushes, a gray brush, and three different blacks: a brush, a fineliner, and an 1.5 felt tip).
With these the sketchbook and the color packet fit well into my hand, so I can draw anywhere.
@glutfuchs 🙂 Thanks. I'll probably switch from drawing Camy to drawing Cat's Eye.
I realised that for a first Manga, Tsukasa Hojo probably got a lot of his mad skill by having to draw acrobatic poses of three woman in their tight body-hugging Lycra clothes. It's pure anatomy exercices from imagination 😆
I remember I fell in love for the youngest one when I watched the TV series, airing when I was a kid in France. "Alexia" (Aï in Japanese). 😅 I still have the Manga in my book shelf.
@davidrevoy@framapiaf.org It would be really great to see more Cat's Eye art. I'm looking forward to it. Cat's Eye was one of the first anime series I saw and I loved it ☺️. The manga is still available in French and Japanese, both of which I'm sadly not familiar with. Perhaps I have the time and possibillity to rewatch the series 🤞
In any case, it's an interesting idea to conjure up a story from an anatomical drawing exercise. You choose the next exercise scene or pose and that's where the story will develop to.

that dragon is adorable 😍
davidrevoy
@daughterofrao The baby fire dragon is indeed a design I'll keep in a corner of my brain. Maybe for Pepper&Carrot 😺 🔥 🐉

Nice work, David.

@Ertain Thanks!

Guess this calls for a Mastodon feature request, why can't I set an auto-boost+auto-favorite flag for artworks? 🙂
Fantastic work, like always.
davidrevoy
@1414codeforge 🤣 Thanks! 💜
Auto-boost+fav can be sooooo dangerous in case of unexpected intensive s**tpost. 😺

ahahah 😂 Yes, I can see it becoming a massive forkbomb vehicle, probably too tempting to not be abused 😈

Back on topic: while what I draw are these very simple sketches, I totally adore your drawings.
They are just so lively and friendly and intense and beautiful.
On top of that they are wonderful free culture: my kids are actually allowed to spread them freely which is still a rare gift these days.
Thank you for sharing your art! 💓

My girlfriend, who is not on Mastodon, wanted to tell you that your drawings are great and she likes your style.

@hinindil Tell her "thank you", and thanks for relaying her message here. ☺️

This is gorgeous! Please make an animated series or a comic (if you haven't done that by now) because it's so good
davidrevoy
@Satanic_catboy Thanks!
I have a webcomic still going on! It's named Pepper&Carrot and you can read it here: https://www.peppercarrot.com/en/webcomics/index.html 🙂

Thank you very much!!! I'll definitely check it out!!!!
