This article accompanies my video review of the Gaomon PD1161 V2, a small sized display drawing tablet. The video provides my in-depth look at the device's hardware. This blog post, on the other hand, focuses on the information and technical aspects of installing and configuring the device on a GNU/Linux operating system.

**Let's go to the point:** it's a bad model. I don't recommended this one. I'm not even submiting the video to Gaomon for review before posting because I know they would ask me to not post it (it happened in the past with another brand). But I think it should be also known, that's my role in reviews: cover the bad and the good.

## GNU/Linux out of the box situation:

So, in the review, I listed that the drawing and painting experience is not terrible compare to almost all other aspect; and my second positive thing about this tablet is that Gaomon made something out of the box for my GNU/Linux KDE Plasma install. Is it because they reuse addresses of a previous model already integrated in the kernel? In udev-hid-bpf? I tried to search, but it was hard to understand where this support comes from.

**Anyway, it works.** Both with all the cables, and in single USB-C cable situation. The stylus coordinate, the buttons, no hardcoded things on the second buttons, and all the pad buttons correctly here to customize, directly in the System Settings. Except a little bug: the GUI shows 10 buttons while the device only has 8. Just enter what you want on button 9 and 10, this is the type of minor bug that I don't even want to try to post fix or to address... 

If only all tablet would have a support like that. My job here would be unnecessary, and believe me, I dream of that.
